Treatments at Mount Alvernia
Cataract and lens surgery
Cataract surgery is planned around how you want to see afterwards: for driving, reading, screens, or all three. Mr Modi explains the lens choices in plain terms, from standard monofocal lenses to the Rayner EMV, the Rayner Galaxy, and toric lenses to correct astigmatism.
- Private cataract surgery, one eye at a time or both eyes on the same day
- Refractive lens exchange for patients who want less dependence on glasses
Eyelid surgery
- Ptosis surgery for a drooping lid, including Mr Modi's scarless technique through the inside of the eyelid
- Upper lid blepharoplasty for heavy, hooded skin, for vision or appearance
- Entropion and ectropion repair
- Removal of chalazia and eyelid lumps
Eye and dry eye assessments
Mr Modi carries out full eye examinations and dry eye assessments at Mount Alvernia, and recommends treatment once the cause is clear. If OptiLight IPL is recommended, it is performed at Nuvision in Camberley.
Scans and laser treatment
The precise lens measurements needed before cataract surgery (biometry), OCT scans and visual field tests are done at Spire Clare Park Hospital, Farnham or Nuvision, Camberley, where Mr Modi uses Heidelberg high-resolution OCT, Humphrey visual field testing and optical biometry. The measurements then go straight into planning your surgery at Mount Alvernia.
Laser treatments (YAG capsulotomy, SLT and laser iridotomy) are available at Nuvision, Parkside and Clare Park.
