Treatments at Nuvision
Dry eye and OptiLight IPL
Nuvision is Mr Modi's dry eye centre, and the only one of his clinics with OptiLight IPL. Treatment starts with a full dry eye assessment to establish whether the problem is poor tear quality, too few tears, or the eyelids themselves.
- OptiLight IPL by Lumenis, the first IPL device approved in the US for dry eye caused by meibomian gland dysfunction. Treatment is usually a course of four short sessions a few weeks apart.
- ZEST in-clinic eyelid cleaning for blepharitis
- Punctal plugs to keep natural tears on the eye for longer
Laser treatment
All types of outpatient lasers are performed at Nuvision, in clinic, with anaesthetic eye drops. Each takes a few minutes and you go home straight afterwards.
- YAG laser capsulotomy clears the cloudy membrane that can form months or years after cataract surgery
- Selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) lowers eye pressure in glaucoma and ocular hypertension, often reducing or replacing daily drops
- Laser peripheral iridotomy treats narrow angles to prevent a sudden rise in pressure
Eyelid surgery
Mr Modi is a full member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society and performs eyelid surgery at Nuvision under local anaesthetic.
- Ptosis surgery for a drooping lid, including Mr Modi's scarless technique performed from the inside of the eyelid
- Upper lid blepharoplasty for heavy, hooded skin
- Entropion and ectropion repair
- Removal of chalazia and eyelid lumps
